Chrono Multispindle Machining Center

Version with 5 axes;
Multispindle machining center with 3 machining centers linked to each other by 4 stations, which are driven by torque motors;
A station is available for the load and unload operations in masked time;
Machining of different pieces for each station or of one piece with split cycle between the different stations;
In option, a Recess Group integrated in the spindle of a machining center with Capto C4 connection;
The characteristics of the offered spindles and the analysis of the work conditions allow the decision, which is able to optimize the machining of the materials;
Dynamics of linear axes with speed of 60 m/1’ and dynamics of rotary axes optimized;
Ability of the tools magazines with standard solutions from 54 to 90 tools;
There is the possibility to apply external magazines also managed by the machining center in work;
Temperature control plant in order to guarantee dimensional stability and maximum precisions;
High pressure coolant through the spindles also with the presence of the recess group;
“User Friendly” Picchi Interface projected to make easy and immediate the use of the machine;
Tele-service: systems of remote maintenance, tele diagnosis and remote control systems;
“Industry 4.0”: interconnection to the IT systems, monitoring of the work conditions and of the process parameters, adaptive control to the drifts of the process, etc.

A modular product development

We have created the new workpiece table by integrating the 4th and 5th Axis into a normalized steel structure, verified with the FEM method, using the same consolidated construction technique for both:

Direct drive drives;
Direct controls performed by absolute encoders in central position with 0.001°G resolution;
Hydraulic brakes for locking the axes even in the presence of significant forces during processing.

The remaining technical features of Chrono remain unchanged, confirming the modular development of the product.

Evolution with the 5th axis

The presence of only 4 axes for the production of complex pieces requires the repositioning of the piece in the machine for a second processing. This may not be possible given the tolerances present.
Added to this need are other advantages with the presence of a 5th Axis:

Overall increase in quality not always followed by an increase in cycle times;
Savings on workpiece clamping equipment the more varied the production required, also seen from a future perspective;
Reduction of machine retooling times;
Logistics savings: simplification and cost reduction of machine automation activities.
